 FUNctional Fitness

A program of 45 minutes of aerobic exercise to music for older adults who wish to function at their optimum level and achieve their full potential. Bring a yoga mat and water. Held Tuesday mornings from 9:30am -10:15am at LKM Dance Studio, Shop7/7-9 St Georges Crescent, Faulconbridge. Facilitator: Ann Fell. Cost $8 per class.

Tai Chi Qigong

Breathing and movement exercises to build health, promote concentration, relaxation, focus and physical strength. Wear comfortable clothing. Held Thursdays from 12noon-1.00pm. Instructor: Renata. Cost is $12 per class. No need to book, just come and join the group at the Uniting Church Hall on Lewin Street.

Yoga and Relaxation

Gentle exercise for women over 55 years to build flexibility and assist with relaxation and stress relief. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. Held every Wednesday from 9.30am-10.30am in school terms only. Facilitator: Elizabeth Godleman.  Cost is $8 per class. No need to book, just come and join the group held at LKM Dance Studios, Springwood.

Exercise at Ellison

Exciting Fitness Classes run by professional trainers from Anytime Fitness. Exercise has been shown to improve self-esteem, relieve the symptoms of depression and anxiety, as well as give an overall sense of wellbeing. Held every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am at Ellison Public School Hall. Cost is $5.00 per class or 3 x classes for $10.00.

Saturday Pilates

Come and enjoy improving posture, flexibility, and strengthen and tone muscles with studio mat Pilates. Cost: $10 per class. Bookings: Please register at . Currently booked out.


Sunday Pilates

Other Activities and Groups

Knit and Yarn

Knit and Yarn is an informal group where you can learn to knit/crochet or bring your own knitting crocheting along and enjoy a cuppa and a chat with others while you work on it. Sometimes the group also knits together, making squares for knee rugs/blankets or ‘trauma teddies’ for the Red Cross.

Knit and Yarn is held fortnightly on Wednesdays at Senator Doug Cameron’s Office Raymond Lane, Springwood from 9.30am to 11.30am

Community Computer Classes

A new Community Computer Class will be commencing. This class aims to break down isolation of community members and build connections between people, as well as providing a warm and friendly environment in which to learn or solidify computer skills at a pace tailored to your needs.

There will be a maximum of 2-3 people per class, meaning that every individual will get the attention they need with the addition of camaraderie and mutual learning from fellow class members.

Please note that these classes run in blocks of eight weeks.

Where: Springwood Neighbourhood Centre, in the Blue Mountains Theatre and Community Hub

When: Fridays from 9.30am, or Fridays from 11.00am

Cost: $40 for a 8 week course
