The Volunteers who form the Springwood Volunteer Home Visitor Scheme (SVHV)describe their work as ” … inspiring, rewarding, satisfying and fulfilling”. SVHV is a Home And Community Care (HACC) funded service offering social support to frail aged people, people with a disability and their carers who live between Valley Heights and Linden.
Home visitors may do any of the following depending on the needs of the person:
• Home visits for company and support
• Local outings eg. to the shops
• Collecting and returning library books.
• Assistance with shopping and taskes.
• Assistance with reading and letter writing.
• Phone calls to say hello and check if service users are OK.
