Our After School care service operates from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm Mon-Fri.
The schools we service include Springwood P.S, Faulconbridge P.S, Ellison P.S, St Thomas Aquinas and the Steiner School.
Children are collected from the designated pick-up points by staff and escorted safely to the centre. Once there, a healthy, nutritious afternoon tea is available which often includes items such as macaroni cheese, bread and dips, apple crumble, custard and fruit and plenty more. Each day, fresh fruit and/or vegetables are available.
Tanderra is part of the Active After School Communities programme sponsored by the Australian Sports Commission and so twice a week, the children can join in with an interesting activity presented by a qualified instructor. This could be soccer skills, dance or drumming, for example.
The children enjoy a variety of interesting activities such as art and crafts, sports, games, cooking and plenty more. As with all of our programmes at Tanderra, children are given the choice to participate or simply play as they choose with their friends, always supervised by our caring and suitably experienced or qualified staff.
The cost is currently $15 per child per afternoon. Childcare Benefit (CCB) is available to all families and there is no upper income limit for this. Families registered for CCB can then claim 30% of their yearly out-of-pocket costs through the Childcare tax rebate. Costs become even more affordable through these rebates.
