What We Do

Community Development Work

Are you aware of the kinds of programs, activities and services that Springwood Neighbourhood Centre Co-operative offers? What would you like your local neighbourhood centre to do? How can SNCC better serve you and others in the community? Are their ways you could get involved? Feel free to come in to our centre and chat with friendly staff and volunteers about what the Neighbourhood Centre offers.

SNCC provides Emergency Food Relief throughout the year to individuals and families in need. Our Food Drives welcome donations of non-perishable food, drinks, pet food and toiletries. There is always a donation bin at the IGA on main street on Springwood.

Community Development continues to support a number of existing activities and events, many of these are in collaboration with various local organisations and individuals to provide a variety of innovative courses, classes and exciting events during the year.

If you would like to talk about how the SNCC could better serve the community or any other community development needs, please contact our Community and Cultural Development Workers on 4751 3033 or email ccdc@sncc.org.au

Community Visitors Scheme

Volunteer visitors form rewarding friendships with nursing home residents. Springwood Neighbourhood Centre offers its volunteers support, training and reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses.

We aim to match visitors to residents with common interests in facilities nearby, as well as those people who receive Aged Care packages and are living in their own homes, so that the experience enhances the sense of community for both. Sharing your time and interests with a local nursing home resident will improve their quality of life and yours! If you are interested in being part of the scheme, please contact Jo on 4751 3033 or cvs@sncc.org.au.
